Personal backstory

Childhood
Girasolemma was born in Tel Aviv (Turkey) from Fraccio and Joyce Bora, a wealthy merchant and an housewife.
Hyerasolem, which means Jerusalem in Latin, is baptized with this name in honor of the destination that most of all brought her father riches among his travels.
She has an easy, comfortable childhood thanks to Fraccio's excellent trades which bring wealth to the family, under the attentions of a vain, sometimes severe mother and a gruff father who spoils his baby rotten and tries to never make her lack anything, promising to give her a first-class education and a comfortable life. Hyerasolem spends her first years convinced that she and her mother are the only attractive looking females in the neighborhood, and despised whoever isn't family.
She has been educated from the age of six by a private teacher in financial straits who, despite being annoyed to death by her, must bear through it in silence since the lessons always happen under the eyes of at least one of the parents who won't forgive him if he ever scolded their daughter.
At the age of eight, her younger brother Jussef was born. She disdainfully gives him the nickname "Snot" because he catches a terrible cold as a newborn that worries both parents, but she's not concerned at all, since she sees him only as a wrinkled and unnerving thing that steals the attentions of mom and dad.
At the age of ten she starts a public school, because her father thinks it is important for her to learn how to negotiate (and also socialize, we guess) with other children of her age.
As soon as she realizes that she's bigger and stronger than most children her age, Hyerasolem begins bullying her little classmates indiscriminately, demanding money and food and beating them up at every occasion, eventually earning the title of "People-exploiter". When one of her classmates has the courage to report her to one of her teachers, Hyerasolem is suspended for two months and forced to repeat the school year. She comes out of middle school at fourteen, with average grades obtained with effort and sweat, and mark only slightly higher in Geography and English. She discovers only then that the world isn't actually supposed to be a blur of colors, as she had seen it up until now, and she's given a pair of glasses that disgust her but at least give a sense to the hazy panorama of her surroundings.

Adolescence
Once out of middle school, she decides to go to a Professional Institute to complete a multi-year course and become a chef at the end of her studies; she receives room and board from the Institute itself (provided a good payment, of course). Her roommate, Samantho, becomes her best friend during her time in high school. By the school rules she shouldn't have shared the room with her, but the only one who knows her secret is Hyerasolem herself: Samantho, physically, is a boy! In exchange for keeping her secret, the transgender friend teaches her to play the piccolo flute in the safety of their bedroom, a skill in which Hyerasolem excels but of which she is ashamed the moment she knows all the secrets of the instrument.
While Hyerasolem excels at playing piccolo, she's instead a dragon in the kitchen. Meaning she puts the kitchen on fire.
Samantho surpasses her in class without batting an eye and finishes school with honors, managing to open the restaurant she has always wanted and to have enough money to be able to afford the operation she's longed for so much and become (probably) the first woman in the world to be called "Samantho". Hyerasolem, on the other hand, is rejected every year and at the age of seventeen she drops off of school. Without a degree, the young woman only finds bad jobs or jobs that don't live up to her high expectations, which she disdainfully refuses. It's around this time that she finally converted to contact lenses.

Adult life
Hyerasolem returns home and starts living off her parents' shoulders again,
getting closer to the Muslim faith for a while before returning to a certain detachment regarding religious matters that will never be filled again. She forms a young group of friends called "The Lil' Ducks", which also includes the now very busy Samantho, with whom she spends her free time walking boldly through the streets of the city, chasing fun.
She keeps disregarding her little brother Jussef, who's an excellent student and a mild-tempered boy, but she finally accepts a new job assignment at twenty-four years, after a violent quarrel with a friend of the Lil' Ducks: a job that will lead her to being a waitress away from Tel Aviv. Her parents oppose at first, but then yield for her sake and hope that, more than the libertine Hyerasolem, her brother will be successful and serious.
She greets friends and relatives, packs her bags and goes to the Black Cat, a badly reputed club located in New York. Already giving her up for dead, her parents sell all the clothes she forgot home.
In America, the young woman is ashamed to present herself as a blind Turkish girl (her words), and thus changes her name to Girasolemma (?), convinced that it's the correct Western adaptation of her name, and wears red contact lenses to be more showy and adapt to this new land, convinced that they'll have the same effect as the transparent ones.

Since they don't, she thinks she's now incurable, but she keeps the lenses because she likes the color and dyes her hair red to match her eyes.
Among the tables of the Black Cat, she meets Pascale Contessa, a sweet little man that's enough of a doormat to fall in love with a tyrant like her.
The two get engaged after three months of acquaintance and get married the following year, since Girasolemma was in a hurry to be a kept woman and stop working. So, at the age of twenty-five, the Contessa family, complete with their newborn baby, moves to Maryland, Baltimore. Little Vampirella was born there (Pascale had no say in the matter regarding the name), and will be their only daughter.
When the baby is one year old, Girasolemma meets another neo-parent who has recently arrived in city, a certain Friedrich Jankauskas: their strollers collide and from that day on for all the following years they'll bicker to exhaustion.
Fourteen years later, when she's already madly in love with her credit card and has long been living a stable and happy life despite being a hysterical tyrant, Girasolemma and her daughter Vampirella are attacked by a mysterious man during
a night walk back home (from a night club, where Vampirella entered illegally pretending to be an adult).
She ends up in the hospital, and the man visits her three times more by entering the window during night time, feeding on her blood and forcing her to drink his.
Girasolemma collapses into a coma, suffering excruciatingly, and when she wakes up she discovers that she got back that sight she thought incurable, and gained a supernatural strength, an allergy to garlic, an excessively easy to melt in sun skin and a nice thirst for blood. She had become a vampire.
Now she can fight with Friedrich, who's also a vampire, forever.

Trivia:
⬝ Her favorite table game is the Mercante in Fiera (Merchant in Fair), an Italian kind of lottery game, that she always manages to win putting to "good" use her education as a fraudulent merchant and her mild mind-reading powers.
⬝ Her favorite tv shows are "Pawn Stars" and "Uomini e Donne", which is an Italian program her husband introduced her to and of which she loves the possibility of shouting swear words in Turkish to the "throne-holders", (they don't hear you anyway).
⬝ Like all vampires, she has an horrible memory, but she hates memos.
⬝ She's unable to pass any object to another person without smashing it in their face. If she needs to give you something, that's how she does it. Everyone in her family knows that if she arranges a meal it's better to go take their own dish by themselves, and that's why it's Pascale that cooks more often than not. She was once hired as a bricklayer, but she was fired on the spot because of an accident with a colleague who asked her to pass him a brick.
⬝ Coming out of her chef course, she has an instinctive contempt for all talented chefs apart from Samantho.
⬝ She's a self-centered, compulsive shopaholic.
